During the International Franchise Association's 11th Annual Public Affairs Conference Sept. 13-14, more than 500 franchise business leaders will gather in Washington, D.C. for policy briefings and meetings with lawmakers and their staffs. The event is uniquely scheduled to occur during and important time in the nation's capital as the political atmosphere begins to electrify for this fall's mid-term elections. There is no more important time to come to this city. Last year, IFA members were present during the debate over health-care reform, and they made a decided difference. While the flawed final health-care reform law that was enacted contained new employer mandates to provide coverage, it did not include a government-run, public-insurance option.
